He tested curriculum rigorously with his wife Celia, who had no design background, ensuring every step made sense to a true beginner.

Finding the First Customers

The course promotion was organic. Jack had already built an audience on Twitter by sharing design and productization insights. As he created content, people wanted to learn how to do what he was doing—creating a self-fulfilling feedback loop where his social presence and course offerings reinforced each other. His early success with a $19 Gumroad daily planner confirmed the digital products market, but the real traction came from having "a naturally aligned" promotional channel—your audience already wants what you're teaching.

In just 18 months, Visualized Value reached approximately $800K-$1M in annual recurring revenue. Jack sees longevity in his courses because they're not riding tactical trends; productization and design fundamentals have longer runways. His end game isn't a specific exit but rather optimizing for a life he enjoys—doing more of what he wants and less administrative work. By staying ahead of the market and continuously producing relevant content, he believes he can sustain the business indefinitely while decreasing the daily creative input required to maintain sales volumes.
